General Helper - Lansing
Joseph T. Ryerson and Son, Inc., one of the leading distributors and processors of metals in the US, is currently seeking a Warehouse Helper to join our team in Lansing, MI. Candidate will be responsible to:
1. Keep work area(s) Safe and Productive2. Fill in for absent positions as qualified, excluding maintenance, as needed on a daily basis.3. Assemble material for shipment or machines in accordance with specifications and instructions on orders.4. Select material from specific heats or for physical condition in accordance with instructions on orders.5. Count, weigh, record heat or test numbers or symbols, list random lengths and other necessary information on orders as required.6. Unload and receive material, weights, counts, check sizes. Identify by color and heat or test numbers. Place into stock racks or designated areas. Record necessary information on receiving tickets or other documents.7. Perform tallying, stamping, sorting and recoiling as required.8. Maintain safety, quality and productivity standards of each job assignment.Secondary

1. Keep areas clean and organized2. Complete assignments as directed.3. See supervisor after all assignments have been completed for further direction.See your supervisor for additional duties and responsibilities once both primary and secondary responsibilities are completed.
Position Requirements
Certified fork truck experience preferred Crane experience preferred (sheet lifter, chains, slings, hoists, or hooks) Experience with hand tools for banding and packaging material. SAP experience preferred Understand work order packaging specifications.
