Welder

o Operates a variety of welding equipment applying appropriate welding processes to prep, join, fabricate, and repair parts of metals.
o Operates a variety of manual and automatic welding equipment to perform joining operations using welding techniques specific to the assigned WPS driven by customer / AWS code standards.
o Responsible to weld parts within our WPS settings and parameters by job.
o Must be able to understand prints and weld symbols and transfer information from them, as well as work instructions, into welded / fabricated components.
o Must be able to pass welding code certification for standard joint configurations (IE: 1F, 2F, 1G) on various materials with MIG welding at a minimum.
o Participate in departmental continuous improvement efforts and support/implement lean initiatives.
o Ensure welding equipment and hand tools are safe, calibrated and fully operational; all issues need to be reported immediately.
o Assist with plant CI activities, within weld department, to achieve quality, productivity and cost reduction goals (support DEGS).
Requirements:
o High School Diploma. Welding certification preferred.
o Minimum of Two (2) years' experience preferred.
o Ability to read and understand blueprints.
o Ability to comprehend welding code, symbols and intermediate steps to produce welds
o Ability to obtain an Overhead Crane License. Rigging experience preferred.
o Ability to obtain a Fork Truck License preferred.
o Capable of passing a Respirator Fit test or have an approved air supply weld Hood.
o Positive can-do attitude focused on continuous improvement.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
o Ability to read and write in English.
o Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
o Applicant will be subject to a background check
o Pre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
