_Senior Manager IT Continuty: An Overview of Opportunity_
Within SunGard's Consulting Services organization, the Operational Resilience Practice contains three practice areas, which are Risk & Resiliency Strategy, Business Continuity Management and IT Continuity that support SunGard's six vertical industry markets by delivering assessments, programs and solutions related to their respective areas.
As a Senior Manager in IT Service Continuity you will be responsible for Consulting Service Delivery across a portfolio of clients and projects. Typical projects include Disaster Recovery Program Assessments, Disaster Recovery Planning and Testing, Disaster Recovery Strategy Analysis and Development. In addition to leading project delivery, the Senior Manager supports strategic sales efforts and business development, functioning as a subject matter expert in understanding client requirements and qualifying opportunities.
The Senior Manager is expected to be a thought leader and should have broad subject matter understanding in IT Service Continuity, Data Center and IT Operations, IT Audit, SDLC, and Business Continuity Management. A solid comprehension of the use of standard and emerging technologies to solve business problem is also expected including Distributed Systems, Mainframes, SAN/NAS, Virtualization and Cloud.
_RESPONSIBILITIES:_
1. The Senior Manager may be responsible for managing direct reports. As a People Manager, you will be required to oversee (lead, coach and provide direction) consulting team members. This includes career counseling, performance assessments, training program development and time/expense approval.
2. The Senior Manager will have Engagement Manager responsibilities, which will include: interface with ing Coordinator to ensure the proper ing for project(s); managing and reporting on project profitability; writing Periodic Performance Appraisals (PPAs) for project team members; ensure time and expenses are reported and approved in a timely fashion; ensure that the project timeline is followed; that deliverables meet stated objectives of the Statement of Work (SoW) for the engagement and have a thorough understanding of work effort estimation, letters of agreement, master agreements, ing model, average bill rates and cost structure by level.
3. The Senior Manager will act as the SunGard management interface to the client. This may lude regular reporting on project status, meetings with executive management to present and discuss methodologies, capability status, strategies and findings related to the current project.
4. A utilization goal of 70%; a revenue target of $2.5M and $1M in new sales or add-on business.
5. Providing thought leadership within Line across all industries.
6. Maintain an awareness of technological and program advancements in the field of Operational Resilience.
7. Work with Line leaders to drive new business development activity by:
Engaging Industry Sector leaders and domain experts in the pursuit of new opportunities and execution of account plans and penetration strategies.
Responding to RFPs and contributing to Statements of Work (SoWs).
Developing Line programs/initiatives that produce new revenue streams.
_REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:_
1. Certification (such as CBCP, MBCI) is desired.
2. Minimum of ten years of IT consulting experience and five years of People and Engagement Manager Experience. Five or more years working within IT organizations to support operational resilience, either as a consultant or on manager is also required.
3. Experience in managing a portfolio of large consulting engagements or premier account relationships with revenue of $1M+ specific to delivery of Operational Resilience programs.
4. Requires strong work management skills (time, accounting, project completion, forecasting).
5. Requires effective analytical and reasoning skills to plan, develop, implement and integrate strategies, policies and objectives and carry out needs, risk and financial analyses.
6. Subject Matter Expert in one or more of the following areas (Operational Resilience Assessments, Operational Resilience Strategy, Continuity Program Development, BIA, Recovery Strategy and BC/ITSC Plan Development, Testing, BCM Program Management, working knowledge of compliance with Industry Standards and Regulations).
7. Where applicable, a Subject Matter Expert in one or more technical areas of delivery such as Mainframe, Distributed, Cloud, Virtualization, Storage, Backup, and other technologies evolving in the Operational Resilience discipline today.
_OTHER SKILLS AND CONSIDERATIONS:_
The Senior Manager must have excellent listening, speaking, writing, decision making, problem solving and presentation skills and the ability to deliver solutions through a crisis or disaster event.
Senior Managers will be required to travel extensively for periods of time on engagements (upwards of 75 - 100% of the time). Senior Managers are required to work through periods of time where they will be heavily engaged in viewing computer screens, reading and reviewing documentation or expected to lead intense work sessions that require high levels of concentration.
Senior Managers will be required to work in Client allocated workspace (when onsite), so environmental conditions can be unpredictable and may present some additional challenges.
Senior Managers must be able to deal with personalities and work through issues to meet the requirements of the client. They may be onsite where they are required to think independently and strategically in support of a client's needs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
