Michigan Orthopedic Center is seeking a motivated and energetic full time health insurance authorization and verification coordinator with a customer service oriented personality to greet patients with a positive attitude and create a great first impression.
Within 90 days, an assistant is expected to:
_ - Positively interact with patients, insurance companies, and other entities via telephone or in writing _ - Verify accuracy of all patient information - Confirm medical insurance coverage using various applications - Secure insurance authorizations as necessary based on service and insurance carrier guidelines - Communicate patient financial responsibility in an efficient and professional manner - Prioritize tasks to enhance efficiency General duties include collecting and verifying medical insurance coverage, discussing financial obligations with patients, and obtaining procedure authorizations for insurance carriers and/or utilization review vendors.
Prior experience with electronic health records in a medical office is required along with knowledge of various insurance plans and general coverage guidelines.
Applicants must have a positive attitude with stellar customer service skills, ability to multi-task, and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment.
