The incumbent is responsible for serving as point of contact for the scheduling and execution of all media interviews, the relaying of departmental information to the media, and the delivery of messaging and content from the Secretary.
Additional responsibilities may include, but not be limited to, generating messaging and copy, proactive relationship development and communications management with members of the media, data and media contact list maintenance, and coordination within the department as well as with other external stakeholders for special events.
